Like to sing?

We are looking for men and women who enjoy singing and being a part of a congenial and committed group. We welcome visitors at any time at our rehearsals or performances. Come and visit as many times as you wish.

The Harbormasters meet every Sunday afternoon from 2:30-4:30 PM, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 157 Ladys Island Drive on Ladys Island.

The Beaufort Belles meet every Sunday afternoon from 4:45-6:60 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 157 Ladys Island Drive on Ladys Island.

Occasionally we will meet at another location at a nursing home for a sing out.

We hope you will consider joining our organization. We will be happy to tell you more about us and provide an application for membership.

A Word About Qualifications:

  • One doesn’t need to read music to become a Barbershopper. As long as you love the sound, can hear the notes and can carry a basic tune you can contribute and have fun. A trained voice is not a requirement. In fact, an average voice blends better with others and makes for a nice ringing sound. Training is available in singing techniques, music understanding and the many other aspects of barbershop singing.

  • Membership in the Society requires a time and energy commitment to attend rehearsals regularly and to work to memorize the music (with the help of paper music and tapes/CD’s and the support of others). Quartet participation is available but not required.
